Exciting development yesterday--the Gawboy murals are going back up! These beloved murals, painted by artist Carl Gawboy, depict the history of Superior and have been prominently displayed throughout the library for many years. They had to come down during the remodeling project, but now that we are entering the final phases, they are going back up, one-by-one. The Friends of the Library have notecards, prints, and bookmarks featuring the murals for sale at the Circulation Desk. These treasured paintings are a part of Superior's history and we are proud to display them at the library.
Once the renovation is completed, plans are in the works for a new, self-guided audio tour of the murals. Stay tuned for details!

I am interested in images or Carl Gawboy's mural perhaps of Algonquian-Ojibwe Creation of the World, Eastman Johnson Painting a Landscape of Superior, and a twentieth-century scene or two of Superior, for a publication on the history of art in Wisconsin. Can someone call me at 612-850-5155
