The 10-member Board of Trustees, made up of Superior residents, Douglas County residents, and representatives from the Superior Common Council, Douglas County Board of Supervisors and Superior School District.

The library is a department of the City of Superior. Approximately 63% of our operating support comes from the City. About 25% of our funding comes from Douglas and surrounding counties. About 12% of our funding comes from donations, fines, fees, and state aid.

33,000 square feet. The library will have the same amount of square feet after the remodel. Approximately 22,000 square feet of the library will be affected.
When was the library built?
Our current structure was built in 1968 as a grocery store. In 1992 the building was renovated for use as the Superior Public Library. No major upgrades have been done in the 25 years the library has been at our current location.

Approximately $1.5 million annually. The library is open 58 hours per week and has 17.8 full-time equivalent employees.

About the same, possibly less. The renovated library is designed to operate with the same number of staff professionals. Energy efficiencies have been incorporated into the plans, including a new airlock entrance, updated mechanical equipment, and sensor lights in office areas.
